When snowmobiling Jackson Hole, timing is everything, and if you are lucky enough to be coming to Jackson in early or late winter, this is the day tour to seriously think about. The Continental Divide Snowmobile Tour is open during a narrow time frame to enable our guests to take trips during the off-season. Trips run during early season (November 15 – December 21) and late season (April 1 – April 15).
The Continental Divide trail runs from the Arctic Ocean to the southern tip of South America and crosses through New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and some parts of Idaho. The Continental Divide, sometimes referred to as the Great Divide or “America’s Backbone,” cuts directly through Wyoming and enters Wyoming from the top northwest corner and crosses into the southern portion of Yellowstone National Park.
Continental Divide Snowmobile Tour – Rugged and Wild Mountain Country
As it travels through Wyoming, the Continental Divide passes through some of the most remote, rugged and wild mountain country in the lower 48 states. Rivers east of the divide eventually drain to the Atlantic Ocean, and rivers west drain into the Pacific Ocean. There are many hydrological divides in America, however the Continental Divide is by far the most interesting because it follows a line of alpine peaks with high elevations.
Your Continental Divide snowmobile adventure begins at Togwotee Pass which is located on the Continental Divide in the Absaroka Mountains, about 45 minutes north of the town of Jackson. The pinnacles and plateau-like summits of the Absaroka Range are just as impressive as the Teton Range and the Wind River Range.
There are over 600 miles of trails in this area designated for snowmobiling. Togwotee Pass provides access to Grand Teton National Park from eastern Wyoming and has incredible panoramic views of the Teton Range. This area receives over 500 inches of snow each year making Jackson Hole Wyoming snowmobiling one of the top snowmobiling areas in the world.
Snowmobiling along the Continental Divide is a truly amazing experience, and there are not many people who can say they have had the pleasure of doing it. If you are looking for a unique Jackson Wyoming snowmobiling experience in a winter wonderland, we invite you to consider this special tour.
This trip ranks highly as one of the best snowmobile tours in Jackson Hole. Come see for yourself why we think Jackson Hole snowmobile trips are the best in the world. Performance riders, get ready for open meadows and a grand adventure to snowmobile Jackson WY!
