The Old Faithful Snowmobile Tour is an incredible journey into the heart of Yellowstone National Park. During the tour to Old Faithful, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to experience the beautiful scenery and learn about the history and geological aspects of Yellowstone. Yellowstone has the largest concentration of geysers and hotspots in the world including the most famous geyser of all, Old Faithful. Old Faithful currently erupts around 20 times a day with intervals that range from 60-110 minutes and eruptions normally last between 1.5 to 5 minutes. Old Faithful Snowmobile Tour – Full Day Tour Details
We’ll be starting the day between the hours of 6:00am-7:00am, when guests will be picked up at their place of lodging by a tour guide. We’ll head to Flagg Ranch for a scrumptious hot breakfast. After breakfast we will get outfitted with gear suitable for the conditions, including boots, one-piece suit, helmet and gloves. From Flagg Ranch, the journey starts along a 45 mile (one-way) groomed trail to Old Faithful. Stops along the way include popular points of interest such as Moose Falls, Lewis Canyon, Lewis Falls and West Thumb Geyser Basin. Prior to lunch, guests will get the chance to see Old Faithful erupt. After lunch, we will continue with the adventure. Guests return to their place of lodging between 6:00pm-7:00pm.
The snowmobiles for the Old Faithful tour are 2017 or 2018 Ski Doo 4-stroke sleds, which are regulated by the government and meet a high environmental standard. Drivers must have a valid driver’s license. The tour is perfect for families with children; passengers must be at least 8 years old, but we recommend 10 years and older. The Old Faithful Snowmobile Tour is ideal for photographers, both amateur and professional. The overall tour time is 12 hours, giving visitors the ample time to experience Yellowstone and Old Faithful!
Important Note: For the most part, Yellowstone is only accessible by tour. A few permits are given out each year to private parties but for most visitors taking a rental/personal sled into Yellowstone is not permitted.
Pricing may vary depending on the date of the tour and the ages of the passengers, and ranges from $275 – $495 for drivers and from $175 – $305 for passengers. Included in the price is:
- hotel pick-up and return
- breakfast and lunch
- snowmobiling gear
Not included: There is a $50 park entrance fee per snowmobile. Guide gratuity is welcome and not included!

Cancellation and Changes
There will be a 100% cancellation fee if cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the trip departure time. Additionally, all tours are subject to change and are dependent on weather and snow conditions and the number of participants on the tour.
